In our everyday life, we encounter different challenges, whether internal turmoil or conflict with others. Aside from that, we also feel anxious about the state of the world we’re in. These burdens might overwhelm us and make us weak and lose our life purpose. Whenever we’re feeling distressed, prayer is a powerful tool during our hardships. Like a loving father, we can immediately run to Him and surrender all our dilemmas. He is just there waiting for us to go to Him. Like what God promised, he is always with us. And even if we utter simple prayers for peace, we can already connect and find comfort in Him.
1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”
God reminds us that we can entrust our burdens to Him. All areas of our lives are of God’s concern so we can cry all our worries to Him. He promised to give us peace in times of chaos. In His presence, we can rest our souls and let Him guard our hearts and minds. God’s peace assures us that even if we can’t resolve all our problems, He is still in control.
What is Peace according to the Bible?
According to the Scriptures, peace of God transcends all understanding. It is the harmony and calmness of body, mind, and spirit that replaces earthly circumstances. Peace is a blessing from God and harmonious to His character.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Most of the time, we don’t understand the circumstances we encounter. We got bothered and worried about the future that these situations make us feel unrest. The Bible states that the peace God offers surpasses all wisdom in this world. Amidst all storms, God is our fortress. Our hearts and minds will find peace through Jesus Christ.
With this assurance, we can put our lives in the hands of our Lord. When in loss or doubt, we can humble ourselves to submit and trust in God. In his presence, there’s a sense of security, even if we are clueless about our situations. We have the courage to face what’s ahead of us because we trust in God’s sovereignty. God promised to give us a blessing of peace.
Powerful Prayers for Those Who Are Troubled
Sometimes when life gets hard and restlessness takes over, we get lost and don’t know what to do. We don’t even know what words to say in our prayers. And to help you, we’re giving a list of powerful prayers of peace that you can pray whenever or whatever situation you are in. When you are in the midst of fear, confusion or restlessness, find peace in God’s presence.
Prayers for Individuals who Need Peace
In Bonny Mulder-Behnia’s devotion, the peace of God can guard our hearts and minds because God is in control. As she quoted from Philippians 4:6-7, Paul encourages the followers of Christ to look beyond the problem and pray about everything. It is the same as our situation. Every day, we encounter different trials and challenges that overwhelm us.
When the time comes that fear and anxiety cover our hearts, we can always pray to God. We can find peace in His presence. We can surrender all our worries and sorrows to Him. These are some prayers of peace that we can utter in times that we are anxious or worried about our life.
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
As it says in John 16:33, in God, we can have peace because He overcomes the world. The bible verse is a great reminder that no matter what challenges we’re facing, God assures our victory. We can take heart and conquer all trials because He is with us. And He who promised is faithful.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
God can give us strength and security in times that we get confused, afraid, and lose hope. He is in control of our lives so we can put our trust in Him. Have faith in Him even if we couldn’t fully comprehend our circumstances. Trust His plans for our lives. And let the Holy Spirit guide us to do things that are pleasing and acceptable to God. In our daily lives, we can seek God’s presence for a transcending peace. Continue to pray these prayers of peace whatever situation you are in.
Seeking for Comfort
Often we feel anxious about the burdens we carry in our daily life. Trials and challenges are inevitable. With this prayer for peace, we can lay down all our problems with God. Seek peace and security in his presence. Trust in his power because he overcomes the world. His power is greater than the challenges this world throw at us. Here’s a prayer that will help when seeking comfort:
Our Almighty God, today I feel down, anxious, and hopeless. I am worried that things happening in my life right now aren’t going well. The challenges I’m experiencing right now make me weak. My heart is in a state of restlessness. I pray, God, for a calming peace in the middle of the storm. Help me not to look at how big my burdens are but on how big your grace is.
Continue to give me the security that despite all the challenges I may face, I can rest in You. I can find comfort in your presence. You said in Your Word that the world will give us troubles, but we can face it because You have overcome the world. You already won over our battles. In you alone, we can peace.
A Short Prayer for Peace
God knows all the circumstances we are facing even without us telling him. He is our father, and he loves us unconditionally. Pour out our worries, anxieties, and fears to him. He is with you. He will give you the comfort and security that this world can’t give you. And ask that your trials today will become your testimony tomorrow. He will turn your weakness into his glory. Through you, others will see God’s character.
Lord, I come before you ready to pour out my worries, anxieties, and fears at Your feet. I am claiming and declaring Your promises for blessings of peace and strength over my life. Bring peace into my soul that passes all worldly understanding and make me a light for others to see Your strength.
A Prayer Asking for Security
This prayer teaches us that peace is a gift and blessing from God. Acknowledge that in God we find the peace that surpasses all worldly wisdom. We can humbly trust him to grant us peace.
God of peace, we want your gift of peace. We need your shalom. Grant us deep peace that transcends understanding as we trust in you. Amen.
– Bonny Mulder-Behnia

– Saint John of the Cross
Prayer Stillness in the Middle of Storms
You promise the peace of a still lake even amid a storm. Also, you promise the peace of a slumbering child even in the middle of tension and disagreement. You promise the peace of a poppy field even in the place of heartbreak and devastation. Your promise is a peace that surpasses our human understanding. So I rest by the still waters, to lie down and rest amongst the poppies. Your resurrection declared peace over trauma, power over death, and life everlasting.
I trust in you.
Peace is a blessing from God. During difficult times, we feel that we were caught in the middle of storms. This prayer helps us to trust God’s character even more. Despite all the trials we are facing, God assures us that he will give us security and comfort. Our struggles will not carry away with us because we have a God who will hold us dearly.

A Prayer to Seek Tranquility Everyday

A Prayer to Increase Your Faith
God, please teach us what it means to have faith in silence. When we face trials are beyond our understanding, help us find peace. Help me be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. You set all the things according to your time. Remind us to wait patiently and find peace in your plan.

God, my heart is filled with chaos and confusion. I feel as if I am drowning in my circumstances and my heart is filled with fear and confusion. I really need the strength and peace that only you can give. And I rest in You.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
– Mary Sutherland
Mary Sutherland’s prayer is a complete surrender to God. It is admitting that our capabilities and understanding as a human are not the same as the capabilities of God. Acknowledging his power and authority is a first step for us to surrender our lives to him. He will provide the strength and peace we need in our lives. In his loving arms, we can find comfort.
Looking for Serenity with A Prayer
O God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference; living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as a pathway to peace; Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so I may reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
– Reinhold Niebuhr
This prayer is a beautiful example of the phrase ‘let go and let God’. Reinhold Niebuhr asks God to give him peace on his heart to accept things beyond his ability. However, he also requests God to give him the courage to do the things he can through God. What makes this prayer more beautiful? Instead of worrying, he chooses to enjoy every moment. He accepted that hardships will come along the way, but trusting God that he will make everything right. In God, we can find peace and happiness.
Prayer for Stillness
Loving God, please grant me peace of mind and calm my troubled heart. My soul is like a turbulent sea. I can’t seem to find my balance, so I stumble and worry constantly. Give me the strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose and walk the path you’ve laid out for me. I trust your love, God, and know that you will heal this stress. Just as the sun rises each day against the dark of night. Please bring me to clarify with the light of God.
With all the trials and challenges, negativity might consume us. During this time, we can pray to God to give us clarity as we face what’s ahead of us. If we feel that we don’t know our purpose, go to God. He has a purpose for us. Always remember, God has great plans for all of us. Trust and seek him for his purpose. God wants the best for you because he loves you.
A Prayer for Calmness in Overwhelming Situations
Almighty God, we bless you for our lives; We give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness, even though we are not that faithful to you. Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul, and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives. Please guide our path through life and make our enemies at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family, at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands-on. Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out and stay by our side when we return.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
In times where we are facing overwhelming situations, we can utter this short prayer. We can be thankful for God’s mercy and blessings to us. Our faith in God may be as little as a small seed, but God’s faithfulness will never change. We can always ask for him for peace in all aspects of our lives. We can: cry out all our burdens to him and beg him to remove things hurtful to us. Let this be a constant reminder to us that God’s love never fails us. He will always stay by our side.
A Prayer for Positivity
Lord, how I long to break free from negative thinking and embrace peace and joy and optimism. I invite you to transform my thought patterns and help me recognize, reject, and replace thoughts that are not pleasing to you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
– Traci Miles
A negative mindset will not help us with our fears and worries, but it will only make everything worse. This prayer helps us free ourselves from negativity and embrace peace from God. We can invite God to change our thoughts that are pleasing to him. Ask God to help you live a life according to his purpose.
Seeking for Peace Within
This prayer of peace is a great reminder for us that peace should always start with ourselves. Maybe you feel that where you are right now is something that you didn’t ask for. Maybe you also feel that your life is not happening the way you want it. But remember, God is in control of our lives. God has a purpose for your life and in him, you will find spiritual peace and freedom. This prayer from Teresa of Ávila is a prayer that you can use whenever you can’t find peace within yourself:
May there be peace within you today. Trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities born of faith and use those gifts you have received and pass on the love that has given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones and allow your soul the freedom to sing and dance. It is there for every one of you.
– Teresa of Ávila
Prayer for a Troubled Heart
My heart is filled with anxiety and fear. My mind is covered with doubts and confusion. The storms I am facing right now make me weak and exhausted. I might lose faith along the way, but I know you will not let me go away from you. Hold my hand tightly, Lord. Continue to remind me that in you, I will find peace. Secure my heart with your plans and promise. Cover my ears so I may not hear the lies this world is telling me. Give me the courage to face all the trials along my way with boldness. Give my troubled heart peace and security. I know that you’re always with me, God. Thank you, God, for everything. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
It is hard to carry all our burdens alone. But remember to cast all our worries to God because he cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). He wants you to know that you can entrust everything to him because he loves you. In this prayer, we humbly surrender ourselves before God and trust his character more. In his shelter, we will peace and security.
Prayer for Inner Peace
Thank you for being the God who never sleeps. Thank you for always being here for me, even when I’m not always here for you. I am thankful that you are Love and that you want the very best for me. Thank you for your promises that never change. I am overwhelmed. Please help me. Forgive me for turning away from you and trying to control the outcome in situations in my life. The Bible says that you are not the God of confusion but peace.
Help me rest in your love and to feel the peace that surpasses all understanding. Your word says to call all our anxieties on you because you care for us. I turn all of my burdens and concerns over to you. Please guide my every step and help me be attentive to your loving direction.
A great demonstration of faith is when, despite facing trials and challenges, we are still thankful to God. Despite us having a small seed of faith, God’s character will never change. We might turn away from him, but he is always there waiting for us to return to him. His unconditional love and unending grace are some of his characters that we can hold on to.
A Prayer for Confidence
O God of peace, who has taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be our strength; By the might of thy Spirit lift us, we pray thee, to thy presence, where we may be still and know that thou art God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
– Book of Common Prayer, 1979 version

Prayer to Find Unending Peace in God’s Presence
You can use this prayer for peace from Augustine of Hippo as a guide to seeking God for peace. Knowing that he provides for all our needs, we can have that assurance that he will also give us peace:
O Lord God, grant your peace to us, for you have supplied us with all things: the peace of rest, the peace of the Sabbath which has no evening; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
– Augustine of Hippo
A Prayer for Eternal Peace
Hear us, O Lord, and in our troubles, pity us. Give us spiritual gladness and give us eternal peace; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
– Sarum Rite

Asking for a Peaceful Heart
Sometimes, our trials and challenges overwhelm us, trapping us in never-ending chaos. But, when we feel anxious, we can find peace in God. Through this prayer, we can ask him to help us solve our problems while staying at peace:
Lord, please put Your peace in my heart. I am worried and anxious. My mind races and obsesses. I can’t help thinking about my problems. And the more I think about them, the more depressed I become. I feel like I’m sinking in quicksand and can’t get out. Calm me, Lord. Slow me down and put your peace in my heart. No matter what problem I have, Lord. You are bigger; You are more powerful than it is. So I bring my problem to You. I know what I want and my will. I do not know Yours. And I do not know how you will use this problem for my salvation. I do not know what good you will workout from this evil. But I trust You. I trust Your goodness and Your wisdom. So I place myself in Your hands. Please fill my heart with peace.
Prayer for Grace when Weak
Heavenly Father, none of my pains and sufferings go unnoticed because You see me. I can trust You because You have never left my side amid troubles. Your grace is sufficient for me. Remind me that Your power is made perfect when I am weak. Lord, if I boast in my own power and strength, humble me to see how far You have carried me. I pray that your name would be praised in all seasons of my life. To You be the honor and glory and power. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Corinthians 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”.
God knows our pains and sufferings, and he doesn’t want us to carry those in our lives. God’s grace is sufficient for us. During our lowest low, we can see how powerful God is. In all seasons of our lives, let’s give praise and honor to God.
Prayers for Peace for Relationships
Aside from praying for our peace, we can also say simple prayers of peace for other people. We can pray for our family, loved ones, friends, and others. In times of trials and challenges, it is also encouraging to know that other people are praying for you. Our capacities may not help them solve their problems, but prayer is more than enough for them. Be the salt and light of them during their dark times. We can also surrender their problems and let God’s work in their lives.
These prayers for peace are helpful for us to build a better relationship with the people around us. We probably don’t have any idea about what situations others might experience right now. Maybe some of them are afraid to share their problems with us, but we can constantly include them in our prayers.
Guidance for the Family
Heavenly Father, we thank you for today. Thank you for the unconditional love that you give me and my family. Thank you for the gift of family and all the blessings you have given me. I pray that you fill my family with peace and strength. Please continue to guide them and help them in times of trouble. Reveal your character to them wonderfully. Touch their hearts so they might find peace in you. Break any barriers that might separate us. Lead us to live a life according to your purpose. May we give back all the glory and honor to you, amen.
Our family is God’s blessing to us. We all want our relationship with them to be harmonious and filled with so much love. In a short prayer, we can ask God to guide and protect them. We may not fully aware of what’s happening in their lives, we can entrust them in God’s hands. Ask him to guide us and stop any difficulties that might destroy our relationship with them.
Prayer for Peace and Hope within the Family
Let peace return, O Lord, please bless our hearts with love, our minds with rest, our bonds of unity and trust. Help us kneel now at your cross. Let peace return, O Lord, refill this place with gentle words until this home becomes a sanctuary, a harbor safe, a hope retreat. Return the peace, O Lord, we need your words of life, to sow new seed, to grow new hope, to rise anew, and find the light of forgiveness in you. Let peace return, O Lord blow through our family with grace and truth. Blow through the storms of life we sing our faith is in the peace you bring!
It is hard to go through a chaotic day filled with various trials and challenges. Our emotions may get swayed along the way. In this prayer, we can ask God to make our home a better place for everyone. A house that can be everyone’s sanctuary because we have God, who will lead and guide our household. Through him, we’ll find peace and strengthen with each other.
Blessing for the House
Our house is a place where we welcome you. We give you freedom here. Dwell within our family, may we feel you near. Laugh with us, and dine with us, we listen out for you. And when we sleep, watch over us, we give ourselves to you. We greet you every morning; We wake with you each day. Please fill this home in Heaven’s peace and lead our heart to pray.
2 Chronicles 7:15-16 “Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. For now, I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.”.
Let God be the center of our house. We can use this prayer for peace to ask him to be with us all throughout. He wants, not only, to pursue a relationship with us but with our entire family as well.
Prayer for Security amid Broken Relationship
Father in heaven, today, I feel sad and my heart is broken. I have lost my feelings of love in this relationship. Also, I feel empty and so confused by what has happened. I don’t know what to do anymore. And I pray that you calm my heart and give me security. You are my rock and my refuge. Help me in times of trouble. I need you, Lord. Restore my broken heart and hope with your unfailing love. I trust you to heal the brokenness that I’m feeling.
Facing brokenness in a relationship is probably one of the worst feelings ever. We probably experienced rejection, disappointment, being left out, fear, or shame from the people we love. But God’s word reminds us that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Always know that when you’re hurting, God hurts with you. Go to God and let Him comfort you. Let Him heal your broken heart.
Prayer for the Workplace
As I go to work today, may you give me peace as I go to work. Help me be the light at the office and be a source of inspiration to my colleagues. Guide me, Lord, as I speak words that will bring hope and encouragement to them. Help me be a channel of blessing for those who are going through difficult times. Fill our workplace with peace and remove anything that may bring strife. Be our guide and shield in everything that we do in Jesus’ name.
We all want peace in all aspects of our lives, including our workplace. Surrendering our workplace to God is one way to keep our hearts at peace whenever we start our work. We can pray for God to give us guidance and wisdom to help us do our work that will give him glory and honor. Aside from that, let God use you to be the salt and light in your office. Through God’s power, you can be a source of peace. You can channel God’s blessings to them, especially to those who are facing a difficult time. Let God be the head of the company you are in.
Prayer for Love in Relationship
If we put God as the center of our relationships, He will bring us together and hold us closer to him. With this prayer, we can lift up our relationships with him. Asking God to guide us and give us the right discernment so that our relationship will be according to his will. In him, we can be a source of hope and light for each other. Here’s a prayer you can use to help hold your relationships together:
Father God, thank you for the unconditional and unfailing love that you’ve given us. Thank you for being the center of our relationship. We pray Lord to guide that in your presence may we find peace. As we face trials and challenges, may you continue to secure our hearts. Be our guide as we strengthen this relationship. You said in your word that You are love and with that love, we can love one another. Help us, Lord, as we become the light and a source of hope for one another. In you, may we find security. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prayer for a Friend to Find Peace
Dear Heavenly Father, when we look at the circumstances of our lives and the world around us, there are many reasons to worry. Many reasons to fear. Many reasons for unrest. But when we look at You, all else fades away. I pray that my friend would remember Your unfailing love, Your surpassed wisdom, Your unending goodness, and Your unequaled power. After all, she can’t help but be at peace when she walks with God by her side. It’s in the name of my Savior and Source of peace, Jesus Christ, that I pray.
No one is exempted to experience various circumstances in life that test our characters. Aside from praying for ourselves, we can also take a short time to pray for our friends or others. We probably do not know what others are facing, but a simple prayer can make a difference. Let God work for peace in their lives. Ask God to show them his unending grace and unfailing love.
Prayer for a Friend
Father in Heaven,
Thank you for the life of my friend. I pray that you will continue to guide and bless him. Keep him from worrying about the trials and challenges his facing. Help him find peace and security in You. Guide him to put his trust in Your promises for his life. Give him Your promised peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding. Bless him, Lord God, in all the aspects of his life. I lift his life to you, Lord. In Jesus’ name.
Maybe we are not updated with the lives of our friends. We don’t have enough time to see and talk with them. During this time, we can pray this simple prayer for our friends whenever or wherever we are. Let God give them peace and security as they face various circumstances along the way. We may not be physically there with them to help them, but we have a God who will be there for them.
Prayer for Channeling God’s Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me show love, where there is injury, pardon, where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope, where there is darkness, light, where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console. Not so much to be understood as to understand. Not so much to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.
– St. Francis of Assisi
God is God loves every one of us unconditionally. He also wants us to have a good relationship with our brothers and sisters. For whoever loves others knows God’s character. This prayer for peace from St. Francis of Assisi is a perfect example of prayer asking God to use us to become the instrument of peace.
Prayer for the Community
O Lord our God, in your mercy and kindness, no thought of ours is left unnoticed, no desire or concern ignored. You have proven that blessings abound when we fall on our knees in prayer, and so we turn to you in our hour of need. Surrounded by violence and cries of justice, we hear your voice telling us what is required. ‘Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.’ Fill us with your mercy so that we may be merciful to others. Strip away pride, suspicion, and racism so we may seek peace and justice in our communities.
Strengthen our hearts so that they beat to the rhythm of your holy will. Flood our path with your light as we walk humbly toward a future filled with encounter and unity. Be with us, O Lord, in our efforts, for only by the prompting of your grace can we progress toward virtue. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
– Therese Wilson-Favors

Prayers for World Peace
There are so many things happening in our world right now. Some countries might be in a state of war or calamity right now. There might be a dangerous disease spreading around their country. Other nations may experience political disputes, discrimination, or any problems that make people weak and hopeless. We probably have a desire to help them but have a limited capacity to do so. Always remember, we can pray for them. God is in control of everything and knows what to do. We can also entrust to Him the lives of our brothers and sisters in different nations. Amid different chaos around the world, these powerful prayers for peace can help us find peace and security in God’s presence.
Prayer for the Nations
Lord, we pray for the power to be gentle; the strength to be forgiving; the patience to be understanding, and the endurance to accept the consequences of holding to what I believe to be right. May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil and the power of love to overcome hatred. We pray for the vision to see and the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence, a new world where fear shall no longer lead men to commit injustice, nor selfishness makes them bring suffering to others. Help us devote our whole life and thought and energy to the task of making peace, praying always for the inspiration and the power to fulfill the destiny for which we and all men were created.
Aside from having peace within, we also want our world to be secure and peaceful. To live in a place free from evil deeds. We probably want to control the situation, but our capabilities don’t allow us. We get hurt and disappointed. Let’s seek God and entrust to him to do the things we can. God is a God of the impossible he can make things happen according to his will.
Prayer for Security of the Troubled Hearts
Dear God, our world is hurting and broken. We pray for those who have lost loved ones this week, please comfort them in their grief and loss, cover them with your peace and presence, as only your Spirit can do. We know that in whatever we face; you are our Peace and Refuge, a very present help in times of trouble. Thank you for reminding us with your Word. We do not face the storms alone, but you are always with us. Whispering calm. Speaking peace. Bringing rest to our souls.
We confess our need for you. We ask you to forgive us for trying to figure everything out on our own, for not trusting that you are more than able and powerful to work on our behalf. Forgive us for picking back up what we already determined to lay down at your feet. Give us the ability to trust you more, give us a heart that finds rest in your presence, give us the wisdom to seek peace and pursue it, remembering if it’s only to be found in you alone. Thank you, that you sent your One and Only Son to set us free. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be known as the Children of God. But I say to you that hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To those who strike you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from those who take away your cloak, do not withhold your coat as well. Give to everyone who begs from you, and of those who take away your goods, do not ask for them again. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
This prayer for peace is based on God’s scripture (Matthew 7:12). We all want to live in a peaceful society away from violence, racism, and other evils of the world. Instead of us letting our pride rule us, we can entrust our lives to our God and live according to his will. We can pray for guidance in our words and actions that we may not hurt other people.
Prayer for World Peace, 1978
We pray for the power to be gentle; The strength to be forgiving; the patience to be understanding, and the endurance to accept the consequences of holding on to what we believe to be right. May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil and the power of love to overcome hatred. We pray for the vision to see and the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence, a new world where fear shall no longer lead men or women to commit injustice, nor selfishness makes them bring suffering to others. Help us to devote our whole life and thought and energy to the task of making peace, praying always for the inspiration and the power to fulfill the destiny for which I created us and all men and women.
With all the things happening around us that are out of our control, we can only rely on God. Let us hold on to God’s promise that he will never leave nor forsake us. Let’s continue to have the heart and courage to pray for our nations and to other nations as well. When raging storms come into our life, our faith and security are anchored to Him, the Light of the world.
Prayer for the World Where Hope seems Dim
Dear God, the world seems so dark and foreboding. Where are the signs of hope? What are you calling us to do? Wars, uprisings, displacements, hunger, poverty, and disease continue to claim victims by the millions around the world each year. Our ears do not want to hear their stories and our eyes do not want to see their plight because the suffering and destruction is so massive and cruel. In our hearts and minds, there is a desire to help somehow, but the crisis seems so overwhelming that we shake our heads in dismay and we wonder what the point is for us to attempt to be witnesses for healing and hope in this hellish morass.
Help us follow the path of Jesus, the Suffering Servant. Give us the courage to walk the path of depression and pain with the victims of injustice here at home and abroad. Help us seek ways to light candles of hope, however small, through our words, our deeds, and our prayers, to encourage our sisters and brothers to hold onto the faith in spite of the pain and suffering they are facing. O God, help us to light one candle than to curse the darkness.
We pray this in the name of Jesus, who knows what being a light in this dark world is all about.

These are the prayers for peace that we can use in our daily lives and whatever situation we are in. However, always remember that God is a relational God. In times where we lost words to say in our prayers, God doesn’t look at the composition of our prayers. He looks at the position of our hearts. We might be filled with confusion, fears, worries, and doubts. We might lose our hope or lessen the fire of our faith. But always remember, God is in control of everything. He will never leave you, nor forsake you.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Peace is a blessing from God. It makes our hearts, body, and minds calm. God offers peace that surpasses all understanding more than what this world offers. As stated in John 14:27, we should not let our hearts be troubled and afraid because we have God. He is always with us. His love is proof that we can trust him with our lives.
