O Lord our God, in your mercy and kindness, no thought of ours is left unnoticed, no desire or concern ignored. You have proven that blessings abound when we fall on our knees in prayer, and so we turn to you in our hour of need. Surrounded by violence and cries of justice, we hear your voice telling us what is required. ‘Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.’ Fill us with your mercy so that we may be merciful to others. Strip away pride, suspicion, and racism so we may seek peace and justice in our communities. 

Strengthen our hearts so that they beat to the rhythm of your holy will. Flood our path with your light as we walk humbly toward a future filled with encounter and unity. Be with us, O Lord, in our efforts, for only by the prompting of your grace can we progress toward virtue. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our world is big.  Sometimes it makes us feel worried, anxious, and lose our hope. But God constantly reminds us that he is with us. We can pray to God for the right discernment and in him, we will find everlasting peace and security regardless of whatever challenges we face. There are so many things happening in our world right now. Some countries might be in a state of war or calamity right now. There might be a dangerous disease spreading around their country. Other nations may experience political disputes, discrimination, or any problems that make people weak and hopeless. We probably have a desire to help them but have a limited capacity to do so. Always remember, we can pray for them. God is in control of everything and knows what to do. We can also entrust to Him the lives of our brothers and sisters in different nations. Amid different chaos around the world, these powerful prayers for peace can help us find peace and security in God’s presence. 

Prayer for the Nations

Lord, we pray for the power to be gentle; the strength to be forgiving; the patience to be understanding, and the endurance to accept the consequences of holding to what I believe to be right. May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil and the power of love to overcome hatred. We pray for the vision to see and the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence, a new world where fear shall no longer lead men to commit injustice, nor selfishness makes them bring suffering to others. Aside from having peace within, we also want our world to be secure and peaceful. To live in a place free from evil deeds. We probably want to control the situation, but our capabilities don’t allow us. We get hurt and disappointed. Let’s seek God and entrust to him to do the things we can. God is a God of the impossible he can make things happen according to his will.

Prayer for Security of the Troubled Hearts

Dear God, our world is hurting and broken. We pray for those who have lost loved ones this week, please comfort them in their grief and loss, cover them with your peace and presence, as only your Spirit can do. We know that in whatever we face; you are our Peace and Refuge, a very present help in times of trouble. Thank you for reminding us with your Word. We do not face the storms alone, but you are always with us. Whispering calm. Speaking peace. Bringing rest to our souls.

We confess our need for you. We ask you to forgive us for trying to figure everything out on our own, for not trusting that you are more than able and powerful to work on our behalf. Forgive us for picking back up what we already determined to lay down at your feet. Give us the ability to trust you more, give us a heart that finds rest in your presence, give us the wisdom to seek peace and pursue it, remembering if it’s only to be found in you alone. Thank you, that you sent your One and Only Son to set us free. In God’s presence, we will find refuge. When we feel lost or troubled, we can cry out our burdens to Him and rely on his words alone. Let’s have a heart; pray that the world will find peace and comfort in the presence of our loving God.

With all the things happening around us that are out of our control, we can only rely on God. Let us hold on to God’s promise that he will never leave nor forsake us. Let’s continue to have the heart and courage to pray for our nations and to other nations as well. Prayer for the World Where Hope seems Dim

Dear God, the world seems so dark and foreboding. Where are the signs of hope? What are you calling us to do? Wars, uprisings, displacements, hunger, poverty, and disease continue to claim victims by the millions around the world each year. Our ears do not want to hear their stories and our eyes do not want to see their plight because the suffering and destruction is so massive and cruel. In our hearts and minds, there is a desire to help somehow, but the crisis seems so overwhelming that we shake our heads in dismay and we wonder what the point is for us to attempt to be witnesses for healing and hope in this hellish morass.

Help us follow the path of Jesus, the Suffering Servant. Give us the courage to walk the path of depression and pain with the victims of injustice here at home and abroad. Help us seek ways to light candles of hope, however small, through our words, our deeds, and our prayers, to encourage our sisters and brothers to hold onto the faith in spite of the pain and suffering they are facing. O God, help us to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

We pray this in the name of Jesus, who knows what being a light in this dark world is all about.

Peaceful Blessings

These are the prayers for peace that we can use in our daily lives and whatever situation we are in. However, always remember that God is a relational God. In times where we lost words to say in our prayers, God doesn’t look at the composition of our prayers. He looks at the position of our hearts. We might be filled with confusion, fears, worries, and doubts. We might lose our hope or lessen the fire of our faith. But always remember, God is in control of everything. He will never leave you, nor forsake you.

Peace is a blessing from God. It makes our hearts, body, and minds calm. God offers peace that surpasses all understanding more than what this world offers. As stated in John 14:27, we should not let our hearts be troubled and afraid because we have God. He is always with us. His love is proof that we can trust him with our lives.
