In our everyday life, we encounter different challenges, whether internal turmoil or conflict with others. Aside from that, we also feel anxious about the state of the world we’re in. These burdens might overwhelm us and make us weak and lose our life purpose. Whenever we’re feeling distressed, prayer is a powerful tool during our hardships. Like a loving father, we can immediately run to Him and surrender all our dilemmas. He is just there waiting for us to go to Him. Like what God promised, he is always with us. And even if we utter simple prayers for peace, we can already connect and find comfort in Him.
1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”
God reminds us that we can entrust our burdens to Him. All areas of our lives are of God’s concern so we can cry all our worries to Him. He promised to give us peace in times of chaos. In His presence, we can rest our souls and let Him guard our hearts and minds. God’s peace assures us that even if we can’t resolve all our problems, He is still in control.
What is Peace according to the Bible?
According to the Scriptures, peace of God transcends all understanding. It is the harmony and calmness of body, mind, and spirit that replaces earthly circumstances. Peace is a blessing from God and harmonious to His character.
Philippians 4:7
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Most of the time, we don’t understand the circumstances we encounter. We got bothered and worried about the future that these situations make us feel unrest. The Bible states that the peace God offers surpasses all wisdom in this world. Amidst all storms, God is our fortress. Our hearts and minds will find peace through Jesus Christ.
With this assurance, we can put our lives in the hands of our Lord. When in loss or doubt, we can humble ourselves to submit and trust in God. In his presence, there’s a sense of security, even if we are clueless about our situations. We have the courage to face what’s ahead of us because we trust in God’s sovereignty. God promised to give us a blessing of peace.

Powerful Prayers for Those Who Are Troubled
Sometimes when life gets hard and restlessness takes over, we get lost and don’t know what to do. We don’t even know what words to say in our prayers. And to help you, we’re giving a list of powerful prayers of peace that you can pray whenever or whatever situation you are in. When you are in the midst of fear, confusion or restlessness, find peace in God’s presence.
Prayers for Individuals who Need Peace
In Bonny Mulder-Behnia’s devotion, the peace of God can guard our hearts and minds because God is in control. As she quoted from Philippians 4:6-7, Paul encourages the followers of Christ to look beyond the problem and pray about everything. It is the same as our situation. Every day, we encounter different trials and challenges that overwhelm us.
When the time comes that fear and anxiety cover our hearts, we can always pray to God. We can find peace in His presence. We can surrender all our worries and sorrows to Him. These are some prayers of peace that we can utter in times that we are anxious or worried about our life.
Philippians 4:6-7
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
As it says in John 16:33, in God, we can have peace because He overcomes the world. The bible verse is a great reminder that no matter what challenges we’re facing, God assures our victory. We can take heart and conquer all trials because He is with us. And He who promised is faithful.
John 16:33

God can give us strength and security in times that we get confused, afraid, and lose hope. He is in control of our lives so we can put our trust in Him. Have faith in Him even if we couldn’t fully comprehend our circumstances. Trust His plans for our lives. And let the Holy Spirit guide us to do things that are pleasing and acceptable to God. In our daily lives, we can seek God’s presence for a transcending peace. Continue to pray these prayers of peace whatever situation you are in.

My heart is in a state of restlessness. I pray, God, for a calming peace in the middle of the storm. Help me not to look at how big my burdens are but on how big your grace is.
Continue to give me the security that despite all the challenges I may face, I can rest in You. I can find comfort in your presence. You said in Your Word that the world will give us troubles, but we can face it because You have overcome the world. You already won over our battles. In you alone, we can peace.
A Short Prayer for Peace
God knows all the circumstances we are facing even without us telling him. He is our father, and he loves us unconditionally. Pour out our worries, anxieties, and fears to him. He is with you. He will give you the comfort and security that this world can’t give you. And ask that your trials today will become your testimony tomorrow. He will turn your weakness into his glory. Through you, others will see God’s character.
Lord, I come before you ready to pour out my worries, anxieties, and fears at Your feet. I am claiming and declaring Your promises for blessings of peace and strength over my life. Bring peace into my soul that passes all worldly understanding and make me a light for others to see Your strength.

Prayer for Channeling God’s Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me show love, where there is injury, pardon, where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope, where there is darkness, light, where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console. Not so much to be understood as to understand. Not so much to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.

We probably want to control the situation, but our capabilities don’t allow us. We get hurt and disappointed. Let’s seek God and entrust to him to do the things we can. God is a God of the impossible he can make things happen according to his will.

Prayer for Security of the Troubled Hearts
Dear God, our world is hurting and broken. We pray for those who have lost loved ones this week, please comfort them in their grief and loss, cover them with your peace and presence, as only your Spirit can do. We know that in whatever we face; you are our Peace and Refuge, a very present help in times of trouble. Thank you for reminding us with your Word. We do not face the storms alone, but you are always with us. Whispering calm. Speaking peace. Bringing rest to our souls.
We confess our need for you. We ask you to forgive us for trying to figure everything out on our own, for not trusting that you are more than able and powerful to work on our behalf. Forgive us for picking back up what we already determined to lay down at your feet. Give us the ability to trust you more, give us a heart that finds rest in your presence, give us the wisdom to seek peace and pursue it, remembering if it’s only to be found in you alone. Thank you, that you sent your One and Only Son to set us free. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

In God’s presence, we will find refuge. When we feel lost or troubled, we can cry out our burdens to Him and rely on his words alone. Let’s have a heart; pray that the world will find peace and comfort in the presence of our loving God.
Christian Prayer for a Peaceful Relationship with Others
Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be known as the Children of God. But I say to you that hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To those who strike you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from those who take away your cloak, do not withhold your coat as well. Give to everyone who begs from you, and of those who take away your goods, do not ask for them again. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

This prayer for peace is based on God’s scripture (Matthew 7:12). We all want to live in a peaceful society away from violence, racism, and other evils of the world. Instead of us letting our pride rule us, we can entrust our lives to our God and live according to his will. We can pray for guidance in our words and actions that we may not hurt other people.
Prayer for World Peace, 1978
We pray for the power to be gentle; The strength to be forgiving; the patience to be understanding, and the endurance to accept the consequences of holding on to what we believe to be right. May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil and the power of love to overcome hatred. We pray for the vision to see and the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence, a new world where fear shall no longer lead men or women to commit injustice, nor selfishness makes them bring suffering to others. Help us to devote our whole life and thought and energy to the task of making peace, praying always for the inspiration and the power to fulfill the destiny for which I created us and all men and women.

With all the things happening around us that are out of our control, we can only rely on God. Let us hold on to God’s promise that he will never leave nor forsake us. Let’s continue to have the heart and courage to pray for our nations and to other nations as well. When raging storms come into our life, our faith and security are anchored to Him, the Light of the world.
Prayer for the World Where Hope seems Dim
Dear God, the world seems so dark and foreboding. Where are the signs of hope? What are you calling us to do? Wars, uprisings, displacements, hunger, poverty, and disease continue to claim victims by the millions around the world each year. Our ears do not want to hear their stories and our eyes do not want to see their plight because the suffering and destruction is so massive and cruel. In our hearts and minds, there is a desire to help somehow, but the crisis seems so overwhelming that we shake our heads in dismay and we wonder what the point is for us to attempt to be witnesses for healing and hope in this hellish morass.
Help us follow the path of Jesus, the Suffering Servant. Give us the courage to walk the path of depression and pain with the victims of injustice here at home and abroad. Help us seek ways to light candles of hope, however small, through our words, our deeds, and our prayers, to encourage our sisters and brothers to hold onto the faith in spite of the pain and suffering they are facing. O God, help us to light one candle than to curse the darkness.
We pray this in the name of Jesus, who knows what being a light in this dark world is all about.

Peaceful Blessings
These are the prayers for peace that we can use in our daily lives and whatever situation we are in. However, always remember that God is a relational God. In times where we lost words to say in our prayers, God doesn’t look at the composition of our prayers. He looks at the position of our hearts. We might be filled with confusion, fears, worries, and doubts. We might lose our hope or lessen the fire of our faith. But always remember, God is in control of everything. He will never leave you, nor forsake you.
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Peace is a blessing from God. It makes our hearts, body, and minds calm. God offers peace that surpasses all understanding more than what this world offers. As stated in John 14:27, we should not let our hearts be troubled and afraid because we have God. He is always with us. His love is proof that we can trust him with our lives.
