What does the Bible say about distraction? Bible verses about distractions show us that distractions of the world are Satan’s strategic way of distracting us from God, starting off by distracting us through our thoughts. Distraction from God caused by Satan can manifest through various mediums all around us – social media, money, career development, etc. All of these can cause us to lose sight of God, but also missed opportunities and windows of blessings from Him.

Examples of distractions in the Bible, such as the story of Martha (Luke 10:38-42), teach us the importance of placing God above all else. Ultimately, being distracted from our faith in God is a sin. But, with an armor of God prayer, and placing our trust in Him, we are able to overcome the distractions (and in turn, overcome evil) that attempt to bring us away from God. Let these bible verses about distractions remind us to always prioritize God in everything that we do. Do not let the noise of the world distract you from the voice of God.

Prayer To Overcome Distractions

Almighty Father, please grant me Your grace and guidance so that I can fix my eyes on You and only You. The distractions of the world are loud and even overwhelming at times. No distraction is too bothersome nor too forceful to overcome, so long as I have You by my side. Please continue to watch over me, Lord. As I offer this prayer, I strive to only lay my eyes on Your grace, for with You, these distractions do not stand a chance. Amen.
