Luke 18:16 -17 But Jesus called the children to him and said,Ā āLet the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.Ā Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little childwill never enter it.ā
Children are born innocent. They carry no guilt and their hearts are pure.Ā This is why in the verse above, God said that His kingdom belongs to them. God wants us to be like children, teachable and sincere. He wants us to depend on Him and trust Him as children do to adults. God wants us to enjoy prayer and find delight in the time we have with Him; to seek guidance and direction from Him. This childlike behavior is what builds our relationship with our Father in Heaven. In that way, we may please our Father above and at the same time will lead us to salvation.
