45 Best Prayers For Healing And Recuperation

Humans may have the knowledge to invent medicines, but only God can grant full healing. This can be observed in how medicines work at a different pace on each patient. However, there are times that drugs do not work and prayer will be the last resort. God’s healing can come in many forms such as spiritual healing, healing of the soul, physical healing, and more. Having God as the last choice when our sickness does not go away is not a good practice for it is Him that we should think first in everything that happens in our lives; may it be good or bad. Prayers for healing are very much needed most especially now that our world is currently facing deadly pandemics. Since we have not yet found the cure for some viruses, all our hopes lie in God’s powerful hands.

Why Doesn’t God Answer Prayers for Healing?

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Pain teaches us more lessons than happiness will. Trials and sufferings are part of our lives as humans. Both physical and emotional turmoil sometimes make us question God; why is He allowing these bad things to happen to you when you pray to be spared from them? Or why is it that God seems deaf to all your cries for help and restoration of strength?. God’s intention can never be guessed by anyone because he works in mysterious ways to help us in life’s journey. Life is hard, but we can change the way we look at these sicknesses and pains.

Everything may not always be good, but as children of God who love and believe in Him, we have the assurance that everything will work out for our best interest. Once we overcome an illness, we become stronger; not just physically, but also emotionally. Pain produces resilience and endurance which will help us as we go further with life. God will never give us something that He knows we cannot handle (1 Corinthians 10:13). That is why, whenever our prayers are not yet answered, it just means that there are still lessons left that God wants to teach us. And those teachings will benefit us in the future.

When our prayers for healing does not work, we should not lose faith. Instead, we should trust His process and great plans that lie ahead. We should continue to pray until we overcome the pain that is weighing our physical and emotional health. Once we overcome this, we will be stronger together with our faith.

How do you send healing prayers?

healing hand

Acts 4:30 While you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

A healing prayer starts with faith. If we were to read how Jesus healed the sick when He was teaching, we can notice how He emphasized the role of faith when it comes to healing. Believing that you will be healed through your prayer and claiming it, will strengthen the prayer. We must have a stronghold on our faith together with our unceasing prayers to God. Communicating consistently to God through prayers for healing will drive away the evil spirits cast by the devil to weaken our physical and emotional spirits. As we pray, we should include a firm command for all negative spirits to leave your body and vicinity in the name of  Jesus.

In praying, we should ensure that only you and God can hear the prayer. Our requests and pleadings should be directly communicated to Our Creator. It does not mean that saying our prayers out loud is a bad thing. Instead, silent prayers just make it harder for the devil to intercept it as they can not read our mind nor know the desires of our heart, only God can. Healing prayers should always include words of thanks as God is always pleased with a grateful heart. No matter how difficult our circumstances are, we should always see how He continuously bless us. Recognizing these blessings will also help us to see the positive side of our situation that improves our overall health as well.

Healing prayers are like the key to open the door of heaven to make divine healing rain down on us. Through these prayers, we are welcoming the power of God to work its wonders and miracles on us, like what the verse above says.

How do you pray for a miracle?

Deuteronomy 10:21 He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.

There is some sickness that may be declared to be a hopeless case by doctors but with God, there is no such thing as hopeless. His power has no limit and His miracles work in the most hopeless and unexpected times. Although miracles are considered as extraordinary and rare, it gives those who believe in it the hope for something better amidst any afflictions. Praying for miracles should start with the firm belief in it and the power of God that can make it happen. Your heart should be open to unending possibilities of how things may get better soon. The more positive our perception is, the more we will welcome miracles in our life.

Trusting God means trusting His plans for us. And miracles do not happen just because we want it to. It happens when God permits it. Praying for miracles in the middle of despair is a common reaction for us. And although it is not a bad thing, we should always remember that bad times are not given to us randomly. Instead, those are meant to teach us something from the suffering it causes. Rather than attempting to escape it, we should pray for the strength to endure it and get over it while gaining valuable lessons.

Do healing prayers work?

Psalm 107:20 He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.

Praying to God is not the same as wishing to a genie. Just because we tell God we want to be healed fro a certain illness, does not mean it will come immediately. Prayers work in paces according to God’s Will and our faith. Healing through God’s power works through divine intervention, something that medical science does not believe, but yet cannot completely debunk. God’s healing does not pick certain diseases. He can heal a mild one and even one that may seem hopeless. Although some prayers are not answered as fast as others, one thing is certain; Healing prayers work.

In the Old Testament, one of the names of God is Jehovah Rapha which means God of healing or a God that heals. The God mentioned in the book of Exodus is the same God. He never changes. If God can heal the sick in the Old Testament and like how Jesus healed the sick in the New Testament, He can most certainly heal whatever it is that we are praying for. We just have to keep our faith and hold on to His promises that everything happens for a reason and will happen for the good of us who believes and loves Him.

Healing for Everyone

healing through the cross

1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,

The Bible had always emphasized the value of compassion and care for our neighbors. So, when we include people who need divine healing in our prayer, it’s something that will please God. It shows how we are living according to His words. Prayers for healing will work more effectively when done by many as it amplifies the purpose of the prayer. In the verse above, it is highly-encourage for Christians to get together for Thanksgiving and prayers. Below are some powerful prayers that we can use for the healing of large masses and other people in general.

  • Prayer for Those Waiting on Healing

Jeremiah 33:6 “Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.”

Father, we praise You, for You love us perfectly. You set the stars in the sky and the oceans’ borders in place. Everything moves under Your omnipotent hand. To heal us gives You joy. We don’t understand the pain. You tell us that sin has consequences in this life, yet we struggle to draft together a lofty purpose and reasoning for the when, why, where, and who it befalls. Father, You are grace and love and hold us in perfect justice and fairness. You grow us through every season, painful and not.

Thank You for lending us Your power in times of weakness and sickness and for gluing us together when we are emotionally coming unwound. For holding our tongues when the daggers of insult threaten to wage war in our hearts, I express my gratitude. For loving us completely and perfectly, providing care and companionship through medicine, family, friends, and church families that pray for us and unite for our cause, we can’t be more thankful. Forgive us, Lord, when we are too quiet and scared to reach out. Whether it be to speak of our pain under a blanket of prayer, or shout of our miracles to Your glorious Name. -Megs

  • Leaving My Healing To God

Mark 5:34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

Jesus, I don’t always know what your will is Lord, especially in times like now when I desperately seek your face. I offer you no promises, no bargains, no deals to exchange for my health. Father, simply bow my heart before you to tell you the desire of my heart: that want to spend as many years as I can loving you here, loving others, and wanting to become more like you. However, you choose to accomplish that is up to you—and okay with me. If you use doctors to provide healing, give them the wisdom to know what to do.

Regardless of how you accomplish it, the healing you give is always miraculous. You deserve all praise. I believe you have the power to heal. You demonstrated that on earth, and you still heal in miraculous ways today. Even when my faith is weak, you say it is enough, and my love for you is strong. And I know you already hold my heart and life in your hands. It’s up to you. If I can bring you more glory through healing, then that’s what I ask for. That’s what I desire. The life that You gave me is always Yours to decide. I believe that everything happens for Your purpose. Thus, I leave everything to You. Amen. – Rebecca Barlow Jordan

  • Let Your Will be Done on Me

Malachi 4:2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.

Lord, I know that your grace is sufficient for me. Ultimately, I want your will to be my will. I look forward to spending an eternity with you. But Lord, if you have planned still more for me to do here on this earth, I not only need and want your physical healing, Lord but thorough, deep-down cleansing and strengthening—a whole-hearted renewal of all that I am. Because all that I am is yours. Use this trial to strengthen me from a “what-if” faith to a “no-matter-what” faith. And no matter what, I choose to honor you and give you glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen. – Rebecca Barlow Jordan

Prayers for Recovery

Recovered patient

Praying should not end after we got what we prayed for. We should always thank God for His endless grace and love us. Our recovery from sickness, may it be physical or emotional, is something that we owe to the divine power of God which we should always submit ourselves into.

  • Prayer for Thanks after Recovery

Psalm 41:3 The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.

Almighty God and heavenly Father, You are the fountain of life and healing. I bless your holy name and offer to you thanks for having delivered me from sickness and restored me to health. Grant me Your eternal grace, I pray, that I may live a new life in true obedience to you. Guide me to do your will in all things devoting my life to your service. Thus living for you may I be found worthy of your kingdom, where you dwell in glory with your Son and your Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

  • Speedy Recovery

Isaiah 58:8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Living Lord, Your love has held me and kept me through this suffering. Now may your hope and healing lead me quickly to a place of restoration. O Lord the oil of your healing flows through me like a living stream. I choose to bathe in these clear waters each day. I will keep my eyes on you, and trust in you that I will fully recover. Lord, I give you all that I am and rest in your peace. Holding tightly to your promises, my days will be like a spring that overflows with goodness. Thank you, Lord.

  • Prayer of Surrender

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Dear Lord, it is my will to surrender to you everything that I am and everything that I’m striving to be. Lord, the deepest recesses of my heart is to invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell inside of me. My life, heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit are all Yours. I surrender to you my past, present, and future problems. I ask You to take hold of every aspect of my life. Wash me clean from all my hurt, pain, worry, doubt, fear, and anxiety as I surrender to you.

Releasing everything into Your compassionate care, please speak to me clearly, Lord. Open my ears to hear Your voice. Open my heart to commune with You more deeply. I want to feel Your loving embrace. Open the doors that need to be opened and close the doors that need to be closed. Please set my feet upon the straight and narrow road that leads to everlasting life. Amen.

  • I Believe in Divine Healing

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Dear God, I know that the first step in all spiritual healing is to believe. I open my mind and heart believing in your infinite power and possibility. Father, now, my healing is a dynamic and reachable experience, a reality that can be experienced right now. By maintaining a patient and loving attitude, my healing activity is now at work in my mind and body. Looking forward to a joyful expectation of the perfect wholeness that you are now bringing into manifestation through me. I believe in your constant expression of perfect good in and through me. With you all things are possible. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

  • Divine Healing Prayer

Psalm 119:107 I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word!

Dear God, In this quiet moment, I feel divine healing energy moving throughout my body and mind. Your energy, your healing power flows within every atom, cell, and organ of my body temple. There is no condition greater than your power to heal, dear God, and there is no reason for me to doubt that healing is coming forth right now. I trust you, dear God.

I feel stronger and healthier and filled with the peace of knowing that healing is taking place within me right now. True healing is mine through your Spirit. As my whole being surrenders to you, God, in total faith and total peace. I rest in an awareness of you, knowing that I am being renewed, restored, and revitalized. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

  • Prayer for Believing

Luke 10:9  Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

Dear God, I know that the first step in all spiritual healing is to believe. My mind and heart believe in your infinite power and possibility. Father in heaven, believing that healing is a dynamic and reachable experience, a reality that can be experienced right now. Maintaining a patient and loving attitude, for I believe that your healing activity is now at work in my mind and body. I’m looking forward, with joyful expectation, to the perfect wholeness that you are now bringing into manifestation through me. Your constant expression of perfect good in and through me gives me the certainty of Your healing power. With you all things are possible. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

healing for the world

Coronavirus has been consuming the daily life of almost everyone in the world. This virus had managed to stop everything that we considered normal like merely shaking somebody’s hand, hugging your friend, and even going out for coffee. Even wars that have been going on for years had ceased because of this unseen foe. If there is one word that will remind us of 2020, it is this virus. This virus has killed thousands of people around the world with the numbers of infected rising day by day. Despite the advances in medicine, there is still no cure for Covid-19. Hence, all we should do is pray for our families and the whole world as well.

  • Prayer for Healing For The World from Coronavirus COVID-19

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Father in heaven, the creator of everything, You are all-powerful and loving. We thank You for keeping me and my loved ones safe despite the crisis that the world is currently facing. Lord, I know that nothing is impossible through Your power. Father, I pray that you extend Your healing hand on the world and heal us. Lord, we know that something that can not be seen can only be defeated by the unseen power coming from You, Oh Lord. Heal our lands, Father. Cleanse this virus and deliver us from all the sufferings that it cause.

Lord, we are lifting our sick brothers and sisters all over the world to You. We pray that You heal them and restore their strength so that they can live to serve You here on Earth. You are our only hope. Without You, we can not do nor accomplish anything. May You forgive us of all our sins and transgressions. Lord, please continue to watch and protect us. We surrender everything to You, Father. Let Your will be done on us and our planet. This we ask, in the mighty name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
