Several Bible verses about sin reveal important truths about it. These truths should not be taken heedlessly for here lies matters of life and death. Five Biblical truths can be accounted for from the following Bible verses about sin. These five biblical truths are, our broken relationship with God, all have sinned, God hates sin, the consequences of sin, and how to receive forgiveness. 

First, sin is the primary reason for our separation from God. It robbed us out of His presence. Second, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This means that no one is blameless before God, therefore no one can have the ability or will to be with Him again. Third, God is a holy God who hates sin. He despises sin because it brings forth destruction and eternal condemnation.

This then leads to the fourth fact about sin. The consequence of sin is eternal death (Romans 6:23). It leads us to endless fire and suffering. Bible verses about sin tell us that the wages of sin is death. Lastly, and the most important truth of all is that there is a solution to sin. This solution is not of man’s work but God’s love. Jesus bore the sin of the world that we may be saved from the wrath of God and its consequences. 

What Is Sin In The Bible

There is an unfathomable breach that separates us from God. This separation was made by sin. Sin is any action, thoughts or feelings that cause transgression against the divine law and will of God. God is angry about sin because He is a holy God. He loathed its existence because He knew that sin brings forth destruction to His creation.

Bible Verses About The Consequences Of Sin

The penalty of sin is death (Romans 6:23). This death is eternal punishment in a ceaseless fire. This punishment also means being away from the presence of God forever. Once in eternal punishment, there is not going back, no coming back to earth.

The ransom for our sin is already paid on the cross by our savior, Jesus. He became the sacrifice for man’s sins that we may receive eternal life rather than death.
