What Does The Bible Say About Hard Work?

What does the Bible say about working? Did God create us to work hard? Yes, in fact God Himself is the perfect example of being a hard worker who worked for six days before resting on the seventh. The entire Genesis 1 is filled with bible verses about hard work. When Adam and Eve were created, God gave them the command to co-work and be stewards of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15). And they honored God by being hard workers in keeping the garden, at least for a while.

God gave us work not to punish us, but to let us hone our skills and become better at what we do. He gave us the spiritual gifts and talents for different types of work so that we may honor Him with what we do. We were created in His image to do His work (Ephesians 2:10), because God created us for the purpose of action. And God acknowledges all our hard work. Even if the world doesn’t see it, He does. And that’s really all that matters.
